Passage Three: The third passage was about medical research. The passage discussed the use of animals in medical research and weighed the benefits against the ethical concerns. The questions were mainly matching, multiple-choice, and summary completion questions. The passage contained a lot of technical terms, so it was important to pay attention to the context in the passage.

Task 1: The first task was to describe the changes in the percentage of people in different age groups who owned mobile phones in a particular country from 2000 to 2010. The diagrams provided a line graph for each age group and bar graph for the overall population. It was important to compare the data in the line graphs and explain the general trends.

Task 2: The second task was an argumentative essay on whether the government should subsidize public transportation fares or not. The essay required a clear introduction, body and conclusion, and a discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of the government subsidising public transportation. It was important to have a clear opinion and support it with valid arguments and examples.

Overall, the 4-16 electronic version of the IELTS test was moderately challenging. Time management was crucial in all sections. It was important to read the questions thoroughly before listening to the recordings and reading the passages, and to remain calm and focused throughout the exam.
